Crooked Willow Grand Opening

Open House • Sunday, September 16, 2018 • 11AM-4PM • 11181 Co Rd 82 SE, Osakis, MN 56360
Make time to attend the Crooked Willow Grand Opening! Maybe you’ve driven by, but if you’ve never been within the walls of these gorgeous structures, I implore you to stop by and see them for yourself during their open house.
Owners, Derek and Jody Virkus, are recent transplants to the Alexandria Lakes Area, purchasing the property between Alexandria and Osakis in January of this year. They left the city, with demanding careers and hectic commutes, in pursuit of a meaningful occupation and a lifestyle that allowed them more time with their two children. Their decision to be an active and supportive business within the Lakes Area is already evident. Derek noted, “Everyone here has been so welcoming and helpful, recommending local contractors and other supporting businesses that we can build working relationships with.”

The statuesque barn fulfills the desire for an event venue with endless interior and exterior scenery. The rustic outbuildings provide Bridal and Groom’s Suites that are full of amenities. The large warehouse has been completely and beautifully transformed into an event center that can accommodate everything from small groups to large events with up to 400 guests. An intimate honeymoon suite was also added, should you choose Crooked Willow for a wedding venue.

Grand Opening Event

Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 11:00am to 4:00pm
There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce right away at 11:00. You’re welcome to take a self-guided tour while enjoying a cash bar provided by Custom Catering by Short Stop and live acoustic music will be playing at their outdoor ceremony site.

Many of their preferred vendors will be on site including The Great Blue Heron, The Hatchery, Cutting Edge Catering by Nelson Bros., Grand Arbor by Knute Nelson, Country Blossom Farm, Creations – An Event Studio, Coalesce Weddings and Events, Lisa Sherwood Photography, Ella’s Salon and Mobile Shenanigans.

The open house will allow full viewing of the available venues at Crooked Willow, which will be open year ’round. The barn can accommodate  smaller ceremonies, birthday and anniversary parties or wedding party social hours and the event center is large enough for corporate events, holiday parties, fundraising events and weddings.
Derek and Jody are also excited to share another upcoming event that Crooked Willow is co-sponsoring with the Vikingland Corvette Club. A Holiday Vendor/Craft Event will be hosted at Crooked Willow with proceeds will go to Jingle Bells Foundation.
